Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy

Combines the ideas of cognitive therapy with meditative practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness. The heart of this work lies in becoming acquainted with the modes of mind that often characterize mood disorders while simultaneously learning to develop a new relationship to them. MBCT was developed by Zindel Segal, Mark Williams and John Teasdale, based on Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program.

Adoption, Attachment & Split Homes

Having worked with youth in multiple systems and environments I developed a specialty for working with kids who are apart of unique family systems. If that means living in two homes, with a single parent or in a new home environment, I apply an attachment approach to therapy sessions and intend to facilitate growth by engaging the total family system.
